DAMIR DOMA

DAMIR DOMA

Damir Doma’s collections seem lit by a soft, melancholic quest for fluidity. Inspired by identity’s multiple expressions and the link with the fragile, ephemeral quality of the body, he creates pieces that explore interpretations of contemporary masculinity. The Croatian-born designer grew up in Germany and studied fashion in Munich and Berlin, where he graduated in 2004 with magna cum laude for the best collection. The young designer then went to Antwerp, where he worked for Raf Simons and Dirk Schoenberger. It was his time spent at Raf Simons in particular that broadened and shaped Doma’s perception of fashion and the arts. Under Simon’s mentorship, the creation of his personal aesthetics was kindled; leading him to infuse soulfulness and sensitivity into his work.
ELVINE

ELVINE

Elvine was born in the year of 1912 in Hioma, Estonia. She was raised under poor conditions, under the soviet regime. Elvine and her family managed to survive the terrors of world war 1 after which she started to work at a clothing factory as a seamstress. In the mid thirties Elvine started to raise a family of her own. During the second world war she was forced to flee to Sweden with her four children. Elvine is a strong and confident woman, who also happens to be my grandmother. I’ve named the brand Elvine after my grandma, partly as a tribute to her, but mostly because of the beautyful heaviness in the name.

JULIAN RED

JULIAN RED

Julian Red was founded by Mattias Lind (the head designer) in Gothenburg, Sweden, in late 2002. The brand takes its name from a character in B.E. Ellis’ novel “Less Than Zero.” In the book, Julian is a disillusioned punk with an intensive relationship to art and music. Julian’s attitude reflects the brand’s close connection to art and music and marks the guidelines to a rebellious approach to fashion. Julian Red is a fashion brand with both womens and mens lines. The collections have a sharp, edgy and artsy feeling and revolve around defined concepts and ideas. There is always a sense of futurism. The brand is popular among art students and the small arty crowd in Sweden and the same type of crowd is embracing Julian Red on all the new markets the brand it is entering.
MACKINTOSH

MACKINTOSH

Mackintosh is a brand of modern heritage built on true craftsmanship and a two hundred year history. In the early 1800s, Charles Macintosh developed the process of spreading rubber onto cotton to create the world's first formal waterproof fabric, signaling the arrival of the original Mackintosh coat. Today, Mackintosh is a firmly established global brand that combines updated technology with traditional techniques to create the modern-day 'Mac'. Based in Cumbernauld, Scotland, Mackintosh takes its trade very seriously - all coat makers undertake a three-year apprenticeship to ensure that they can make outerwear to Mackintosh's strict standards. The ultimate recognition for Mackintosh as the leader in this area is the regular commissions from international designer brands, firmly positioning the brand as manufacturers of excellence.

MAURO GRIFONI

MAURO GRIFONI

The story begins in 1992 with a series of handmade shirts under the label Mauro Grifoni. An obsessive quest for perfection together with a love for traditional craftsmanship, seen anew with a modern eye and a contemporary sensibility. The concept is to create an assured, refined collection safe from mass-marketed trends and common formulas; an eclectic, sophisticated, metropolitan wardrobe made using the best fabrics around and relying on top-notch tailoring finesse. Unexpected classicism, playful understatement and new tradition meet up in a subdued but precious recipe conceived for demanding palates. Each piece is iconic but non-obvious, rigorous design-wise but with a relaxed spirit, always ready to be appropriated and interpreted by the wearer according to one’s own instinct and will. The DNA is proudly, unmistakably Italian, but never obviously so.
